Ann O. McKibbins is the 2nd youngest of 6 siblings. Reared by a single mother who had a 3rd grade education, she was shown much love and taught to fear the Lord. She graduated high school as the Salutatorian of her class and received a full academic scholarship to Morris Brown College. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree with honors, she furthered her studies at Atlanta University.
For 32 years, Ann O. McKibbins served as a distinguished educator in the Gwinnett County School System until she retired. Throughout her career, she became recognized as a pioneer and blazed trails as she worked tirelessly towards integration, equity, and diversity; becoming a role model for many minority educational professionals and students. Her caring spirit and leadership has been honored and recognized by printed publications and is known by those fortunate enough to have served with her.
Pastor McKibbins has been saved for nearly five decades and licensed to preach for 32 years. She attended Taylor University in Indiana where she completed the American Chaplaincy Training courses related to prison ministries, as she has a special place in her heart for those who are imprisoned. Throughout her years in ministry, she has served the Lord and His children faithfully in innumerable capacities, growing in godly wisdom and knowledge while receiving increased levels of responsibility along the way. She has taught Sunday School, directed Vacation Bible School, been the Minister of Music, contributed to the Prison Ministry, and many other ministries.
Ann O. McKibbins is the Overseer and Founder of Tabernacle of Refuge Ministries, Inc. located at 6954 Braswell Street, Lithonia, Georgia. This great church was founded in 2003. She is a loving mother of two pastors and a proud grandmother of four. As a phenomenal, profound, and prolific teacher of the Word, there is no doubt that the Lord has given her special gifts. She loves the Lord and attributes her overall success to putting Christ first and foremost in her life through her spiritual maturity, perfecting praise, personal commitment, and a special love for God’s people.
